Drywall Continued (2 Weeks)

Other than a few odds and ends that the electrician and HVAC crew worked on, the majority of the past 2 weeks has been spent on drywall.  During the first week they were able to finish hanging what they had left upstairs and completed the installation of the drywall itself.  The second week they spent plastering.

We opted to go with the plaster as it will create a much harder and smoother finished surface.  This will eliminate the majority of dings and dents that you would typically get if you just taped and painted the drywall.  It takes a little longer to do the plaster, but the end result will be much better.  In the end, the costs were pretty similar so the decision was pretty easy.

The HVAC crew finished the installation of the heat pump, and filled the lines with the necessary glycol.  All we need now is to run power to the unit and it will be operational.  They also tied in the hot water heaters to the system so we just need the plumber to connect his lines.  The well crew also came back to finish the tie in of the domestic water pump, which again just needs electricity.

Finally, the crew came to install the garage door.  The door and opener are completed and once the electricity is live in the house this will also be operational.  The outside of the house now looks nearly complete.
